Hi Beth, thanks for this house and elopement story.
Are you familiar with novels of John Buchan ? in our state a longstanding Grade 8 Engish book was The 39 Steps; still rather Queen and Country then in Government minds.
His novel, Huntingtower was a postWW1 drama. Sort of star was just retired Glaswgian grocer, Dickson McCunn, who at the start works out how much extra time he would have had if had started using a "safety"razor each day. Here is a Project Gutenberg link if you choose to read; https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/3782 Two TV adaptions that I have not seen, last by BBC Scotland in 1978. Some of it NPC for today a bit.
Still trying to downsize the family library. A lot of it is history, in many forms; from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and the Leakeys, a lot of Aus stuff, some Scottish nature stories about otters by Gavin Maxwell, Compton MacKenzie novels, and John Buchan novels, and a lot more.
If you want, read the Wiki on the lives of all these. It will give you clues.
Lovely!!
🥰❤️
Great love story and beautiful castle 🏰
Glad you enjoyed it Marianne ❤️
Dorothea is a bit iconic? Love this wee story and so interesting about the unique castle architecture!
Isn’t she a wee legend?! Love a woman who knows what she wants
