What do you think is better—a medieval castle or a medieval church? Well, if you know me, then you’ll know the answer is BOTH!

If you have seen my most recent post on Substack, then you’ll know that I visited the incredible Findlater Castle, a coastal fortress slowly crumbling into the North Sea. Not too far from the castle is Cullen Auld Kirk, a medieval church with fascinating physical connections to Findlater as well as that of a very important medieval queen. It made for the perfect day out for any lover of medieval Scotland.

My work as a writer is only made possible by my lovely readers. I’d be so grateful if you considered becoming becoming a free or paid subscriber
